What is an Israel cable reel?

An Israel cable reel is a portable extension drum fitted with Israeli standard (Type H / SI-32) socket-outlets, commonly 2 or 4 outlets rated 16 A (with 40 A options on premium models), supplied with H05VV-F or H05RN-F cable in 25 m to 50 m lengths. It is SII and CE certified and includes thermal overload protection and an indicator light for Israeli homes, gardens and work sites.

What plug standard and ratings do Israeli reels use?

Israeli reels use the Type H plug and socket system defined by SI-32, rated 16 A at 250 V for standard models; heavy-duty and three-phase reels can be supplied at higher ratings such as 40 A. Modern Type H sockets also accept the Europlug, but the reel outlets and plugs should be matched to SI-32 for full safety and earthing.

Do Israeli cable reels include RCD protection?

Standard reels include thermal cut-out overload protection and a power indicator; premium Israeli models add a 40 A, 30 mA (0.03) residual current device (RCD) that cuts power within milliseconds on an earth-leakage fault, together with the thermal protector. The RCD is recommended for outdoor, construction and damp-environment use.

Which cable is used on Israeli outdoor reels?

Indoor reels generally use H05VV-F PVC cable, while outdoor and site reels use flexible H05RN-F rubber cable with IP44 splash-protected socket covers for weather resistance. IP44 guards against water splashes and objects over 1 mm but is not waterproof for immersion, so keep connections clear of standing water.
