EVE, EVJE

EVE, EVJE, TPE Insulated EV Charging Cable, 600V and 300V

Types EVE and EVJE are the thermoplastic elastomer versions of the UL 62 EV charging cable, and the letter J is the only structural difference between them: EVJE is the 300V type and EVE is the 600V type. Both use colour coded 105°C TPE insulation and a black 105°C TPE jacket over 18AWG to 6AWG fully annealed stranded copper, and both stay flexible from -50°C up to 105°C dry with a 60°C wet rating, passing the UL VW-1 vertical flame test. The TPE jacket is lighter than a PVC jacket at the same gauge, resists abrasion, oil and chemicals better, and can be bonded to the connector overmould, which is why it is the usual choice for commercial charging leads and outdoor installations.
No.of Core:3 power cores plus ground, signal cores optional
Electrical Voltage:600V (EVE), 300V (EVJE)
Temperature:-50°C to +105°C, 60°C wet
Approvels:UL, cUL Certified
Power Cable Standards :UL 62; UL 2263; CSA C22.2 No. 49

Our EVE, EVJE Power Cable products are fully molded with a low profile ergonomic design and RoHS, REACH and PAHS compliant.

Certainly! If you're looking for EVE, EVJE, We are your best choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about this flexible power cable

Voltage. EVJE is the 300V version of the type and EVE is the 600V version; the J is the only change in the designation. Both use the same thermoplastic elastomer insulation and black TPE jacket at 105°C and the same 18AWG to 6AWG conductor range, so the choice follows the system voltage of the charger.

Cold flexibility, abrasion and chemical resistance. The TPE types hold their flexibility down to -50°C instead of -40°C, resist oils and chemicals better, and the jacket can be bonded to the connector overmould, which is why commercial charging leads and outdoor installations usually take the TPE version.

-50°C to +105°C with a 60°C wet rating, and the cable passes the UL VW-1 vertical flame test. The 60°C wet figure is the number to check for cables that stay outdoors or in an unheated car park.

The usual layout is three power conductors plus one ground conductor, with optional signal cores for the pilot and proximity circuits. Conductor sizes run 18AWG to 6AWG fully annealed stranded copper to ASTM B3 and B-174.

UL 62 lists the EV charging cable types, and EV cable is also listed under UL 2263 with CSA C22.2 No. 49 structures. North American EVSE equipment is covered by NEC article 625, and the vehicle connector interface is defined by SAE J1772.
