EVT, EVJT

EVT, EVJT, PVC Insulated EV Charging Cable, 600V and 300V

Types EVT and EVJT are the PVC insulated members of the UL 62 EV charging cable family, and as with the elastomer pair the J marks the 300V version: EVJT is 300V and EVT is 600V. Conductor range, 3 plus ground layout, 105°C rating, 60°C wet rating and VW-1 flame performance are shared with the TPE types, while the PVC insulation and black PVC jacket put the cold limit at -40°C instead of -50°C and give a stiffer, heavier cable at the same gauge. That is the trade for cost: PVC is the economical jacket in the line and the usual specification for portable and residential charging leads that stay indoors or in a garage and are not dragged across a forecourt.
No.of Core:3 power cores plus ground, signal cores optional

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about this flexible power cable

Voltage only. EVJT is the 300V version and EVT is the 600V version of the PVC insulated EV charging cable, with the same 105°C rating, the same 18AWG to 6AWG conductor range and the same three power cores plus ground layout.

For home, portable and garage charging leads where the cable is not dragged over rough ground or left outdoors in hard frost. PVC is the economical jacket in the EV cable line, and the lower jacket cost matters on volume orders of residential charging cords.

-40°C, ten degrees above the -50°C limit of the TPE types. The gap is small but it shows up in how stiff the cable becomes on a winter morning, so cables that stay outside in cold climates still tend to be TPE.

Yes, the PVC and TPE types sit in the same UL 62 EV cable family and are built to UL 2263 structures with CSA C22.2 No. 49, all passing the UL VW-1 vertical flame test. The material, not the certification, is what differs.

Yes, signal cores are optional on both the PVC and TPE versions, and the assembly can be built with the pilot and proximity wires the charger design calls for, in the conductor sizes and colours named on the drawing.
