Industrial Surface Mounted Power Sockets

Surface socket-outlets are offered unswitched, switched, or switched-and-interlocked so the plug cannot be inserted or removed while the circuit is live and the socket cannot be energized until the plug is fully engaged. Interlocked versions are widely specified on construction and industrial sites to prevent arcing, shock and unauthorized use.

IP44 surface sockets resist objects over 1 mm and splashing water and suit general indoor and covered industrial locations. IP67 sockets are dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion, using a sealed hinged cover and gasket for outdoor, food-processing, washdown, marine and construction environments exposed to rain, dust and water jets.

The box is screwed to the surface, fixed wiring enters through a gland and terminates at L/N/E (and phase/neutral) terminals, and the outlet is selected by voltage color: yellow 100-130 V, blue 200-250 V and red 380-415 V, with clocked keying so only the matching plug engages. Proper earthing and gland sealing are required to maintain the IP rating.
